Christy Smith is the founder of ADHD Solutions and an ADHD, Executive Function, and Academic Success Coach who works with college students, young adults, and adults with ADHD. A former business litigation attorney, Christy combines practical problem-solving with a strengths-based coaching approach that helps clients build confidence, reduce overwhelm, and create sustainable systems that work with their brains rather than against them.

ADHD has been a significant part of Christy's personal and professional life for decades. In addition to being the mother of triplet sons with ADHD, she has been married to her husband, who also has ADHD, for more than 26 years. These experiences have given her firsthand insight into how ADHD can affect individuals, relationships, family dynamics, education, careers, and everyday life.

As a parent, Christy spent years learning about ADHD and searching for the most effective ways to support her sons' growth, independence, and success. While they thrived throughout much of high school, the transition to college proved far more challenging than she expected. Watching them navigate increased demands, reduced structure, and the executive function challenges that often become more apparent during young adulthood sparked a deeper search for answers.

Through that experience, Christy discovered something that continues to shape her work today: ADHD is not simply a challenge of knowing what to do—it is often a challenge of consistently doing what you know. Success requires more than information, motivation, or intelligence. It requires understanding how the ADHD brain works and developing systems, strategies, and supports that align with it.

That realization inspired Christy to create ADHD Solutions.

Christy completed a six-month, 90-hour ADHD-specific coach training program through JST Coaching & Training, a pioneer in research-based ADHD coaching. She is also credentialed through the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and is passionate about ongoing professional development. In addition to her formal training, Christy continually studies emerging ADHD research, coaching approaches, and practical tools so she can bring current, evidence-informed strategies to her clients. Her expertise includes executive functioning, motivation, emotional regulation, self-awareness, and helping individuals with ADHD develop systems and solutions that support success in school, work, relationships, and everyday life.

Today, Christy works with clients across a wide range of ages and life stages. Some are college students struggling with procrastination, time management, and academic demands. Others are adults navigating careers, relationships, parenting, organization, emotional overwhelm, burnout, or a recent ADHD diagnosis that finally explains challenges they have experienced for years.

Clients often describe Christy as supportive, practical, encouraging, and easy to talk to. Her coaching style blends accountability with compassion, helping clients identify their strengths, understand their unique challenges, and develop realistic strategies that fit their lives.

As someone who has spent decades immersed in ADHD as a coach, parent, spouse, and lifelong learner, Christy understands how frustrating it can feel to work hard, care deeply, and still struggle to follow through consistently. She believes that with the right support, greater self-understanding, and effective systems, individuals with ADHD can achieve meaningful goals while building lives that feel more manageable, authentic, and fulfilling.

"My goal is not to help clients become someone else. It's to help them understand how their brains work, build on their strengths, and create practical solutions that allow them to thrive on their own terms."
